Human development processes have led to a process of standardization of ecosystems: this can be observed with the presence of expanses of grass, monocultures and, above all, asphalt. This standardization has proven to be one of the main causes of the environmental problems that weigh on us and that seriously affect visible ecosystems The project "SOIL MATTERS" wants to reflect, in the form of a garden-installation, on these conditions. SOIL MATTERS presents itself as a synthesis of a history of ecological changes of the soil through its layers. The installation re-maps the territory of the province of Turin through a deconstruction and reconstruction of some layers of soil, building a new imaginary landscape capable of offering different experiences for both humans and non-humans.

Full description: Human development processes have led to a process of standardization of ecosystems: this can be observed with the presence of expanses of grass, monocultures and, above all, asphalt. This standardization has proven to be one of the main causes of the environmental problems that weigh on us and that seriously affect visible ecosystems - among others - in compaction, surface erosion, pollution, loss of organic component, loss of biodiversity.
The project "SOIL MATTERS" reflects, in the form of an installation, on these conditions.
